Hi, I'm your announcer Dave Lay. This episode of Irritable Dad Syndrome was put together with never before heard clips that were recorded during previous sessions. It's kind of like that crazy quilt my granny made with scraps of leftover fabric that she just wouldn't throw away. Anyway, this is what we're doing. And as Granny always said, you'll listen to it and you'll like it.
SPEAKER_02Uh last week I had two or three contenders for the um for the cold open. Okay. And I was like, do I do this for the cold open? Do I do that for the cold open? So you got all your I put so much time into that cold open.
SPEAKER_05I love the cold opens.
SPEAKER_02I hope. I hope people do. I hope they do.
SPEAKER_05I'm people.
SPEAKER_02Darren, yeah. If the cold opens go, I go. I'll keep doing that.
SPEAKER_05I have a feeling we're making one now.
SPEAKER_06You sound weird. Do you have a beard?
SPEAKER_00Time now for irritable dad syndrome. Do not listen if you're allergic to irritable dad syndrome. Here are your hosts, Mike and Darren.
SPEAKER_05Are we Mike and Darren or Cricket and Tabs? Let's do Cricket and Tabs. You're tabs, right?
SPEAKER_02Yeah, then you start say hi. Well, I can't start it out. Why can't you start it out?
SPEAKER_05You can say hi and whoever starts it has to do all the You can say hi, I'm Cricket, and I'll say and I'm Tabs.
SPEAKER_02No, okay. And then welcome to Irritable Dad Scientists. Oh, yeah. All right, okay. Okay. You ready? Hey, I'm Cricket and I'm Tabs. Welcome to Irritable Dad Syndrome Cincinnati's Comedy Podcast. This is episode 300 26. I thought I sounded great. Well, if anybody knows what motorboating a cow sounds like, it would be you.
SPEAKER_05You sounded like you had your mouth. So let's come back. Wow. Judge much. Oh, by the way, if you're joining this for the first time, uh the live is off the rails and and uncensored. So far. Potty mouth McGee here can't keep it in his pants. You have had And it's a video show, so hold on to your wallapy. You raised it?
SPEAKER_02You're saying that I'm using language tonight. You're saying that I'm the one using language tonight.
SPEAKER_05Just got six years of evidence, folks. I'm sure some enterprising patrons could data mine and see how many times you dropped the old right? Right.
SPEAKER_02Let's try this again.
SPEAKER_05Okay.
SPEAKER_02And I will sound less motor boaty.
SPEAKER_05You did sound like you had something in front of your face.
SPEAKER_02I don't know what you're talking about. You ready? I'm ready.
SPEAKER_05Done around? Hey, I'm cricket. Some would say I'm mining for bloopers. I'm not. I'm not.
SPEAKER_02You're intentionally doing it. I'm not intentionally doing this.
SPEAKER_05No, I feel like Walter White in the fly episode, and there's a fly in here. Can you take a deep breath? Skip the emotions out. Ron in five. Four. Hey, I'm cricket. This is why we can't have a show. This is why. This is why we can't have nice things. I don't remember the last time I've seen you. I I don't think we've done a podcast in three months. No, we did one last week.
SPEAKER_03Yeah. Did I talk about reading Star Wars? Yes. Did you listen to the driveway? That's because was it a good one? No, the last one was it wasn't the greatest episode, but it was good.
SPEAKER_02No, last week you did talk about reading the Star Wars novels, and I attempted you to tell you that I was holding on to that for some of these people. Yeah, because you can't have no idea what Mike's talking about. But sometimes you know, we had uh we had ran our course and we're like, all right, we're gonna ramp this thing up and good night, everybody love you, love you too. And thanks for listening to your hand syndrome. And Mike's been reading the story. And then you told this 10-minute long fantastic story. Okay, but putting it into the podcast doesn't make much sense. It doesn't make much sense at all. And it was good, so and I saved those clips, and then we heard them at another time. So yeah.
SPEAKER_05Yeah, bitch. So I private domicile. We didn't talk about it this in here, but I finished reading A New Hope. Okay, and there are some cool things about it, about reading the book. Because he wrote the book Who did George Lucas. Okay, and it actually has him as the author, which I think was good. Each different people wrote each book, but he wrote uh A New Hope. He wrote a new hope. And the the dialogue is mostly the same because they they mentioned uh in one of the behind the scenes uh Harrison Ford and Carrie Fisher famously told George Lucas, look, people don't talk, they don't say these like this. So there's some of the iconic lines that are like three or four sentences.
SPEAKER_02Look, George, people talk verbally with audio and verbs and words and nouns.
SPEAKER_05But there were some interesting things. There's a lot of there's a lot of there's some scenes with Luke and his friends hanging out, like he's just chilling with his friends, and they're talking about going to the academy and doing this stuff, and Luke's talking about how his uncle won't let him, and there's more of that fleshed out, so that and they didn't put it in the movie, and it I think the movie like I can see why they didn't put it in, right? But it also hurts the movie a little bit because Luke comes off as a lot whinier.
SPEAKER_02Oh, he's a whiny.
SPEAKER_05He's not that whiny in the book, but it's the same dialogue because they didn't put those scenes in there where Luke's like Tashi and get some power conversations. Literally, he was doing that because he was just saying that because he wanted to go hang out with his friends. What do you want to get the the Tashi for some Tashi station for some power converters? But there's that the uh the scene.
SPEAKER_02Which if you're going, they've got them the cheapest at Tashi.
SPEAKER_05The scene in the Moss Isley uh cantina where the I don't like you, he doesn't like you either. There were three aliens that were doing that, and they cornered well, cornered, they surrounded Luke in the middle of the bar, and all the aliens spread out like it was gonna be like a cage match. Oh and Obi-Wan them up, lightsabered the d out of them, like cut one of them in the half in half with his head straight down.
SPEAKER_02He severed them in twang.
SPEAKER_05Severed them betwixt.
SPEAKER_02Betwixt.
SPEAKER_05Yeah, killed the out of all three of them, uh-huh. And then the other aliens were like taking the bodies and throwing them outside, and then the like the bar just kind of like, well, all right.
SPEAKER_02So was it what walrus man, uh uh Bosk? Who Yeah.
SPEAKER_05Well, there was one, I guess they didn't do it because they didn't know how to do it, but he was like just covered in eyeballs, and he that's the guy that got cut straight down the middle. Okay, okay. Uh there's that, Biggs and Wedge. There's a lot of interplay between them and Luke. The Death Star attack, yeah. In the movie, Luke uses the force on the first run.
SPEAKER_01Okay.
SPEAKER_05In the book, he tries it with the targeting computer first and f it up.
SPEAKER_01Okay.
SPEAKER_05And comes back out and back around, and he's like in his mind, he's thinking, you know what? I'm gonna do this force thing. Let's see how this thing. I mean, he doesn't say it like that, but you know, you know what I mean. Right. And he he does it that way, and he pass he doesn't pass out, but he like uh what's that the guy in uh Primal Fear, I lost time. I just he like Richard Gere? No, no, the the other guy, Edward Norton. Edward Norton. I lost time, I lost time, so I just I don't I don't know what happened. Every time you remember in Primal Fear This is like Matthew McConaughey. Well, that's he gets that southern accent.
SPEAKER_02Do you remember Primal Fear?
SPEAKER_05Edward Norton? He was the killer, he was he was the killer the whole time. Yeah, and he had his his voice is always he's got a stutter, it's like I I I didn't I I didn't know what I was doing. I I didn't know I didn't know what I was doing. But then his normal voice was like, I totally killed him. You know, like okay, right anyway. I don't know where I'm going. The point is, is I'm just glad we're here. In the book, Luke makes another run and he's thinking about using the force, he blinks, and then he's pulling away from the Death Star and he shot him in there. He didn't realize that he'd done it. Okay, it was the force that guided the thing down a bit to extend in twain. And Chewbacca got a medal in the book. In the movie, Leia doesn't give him a medal. Right. In the book, that yeah. But why did she do it in the movie? I don't know. Maybe she couldn't reach. I mean, was it Peter May? He was like 15 feet tall.
SPEAKER_02That's how you bend down.
SPEAKER_05My favorite thing that I saw.
SPEAKER_02In the book, did the stormtrooper walk through and hit his head? No.
SPEAKER_05No, no, no, no, no. But you know, you know the uh scene where Han is chasing the stormtroopers screaming? Yes. And he runs into a whole group of them. And then he runs back. And he runs back. Yeah. That's a long like the them going through the Death Star is a very long process in the book. Like they go deep into the Death Star and they have enough time to think. Like Luke is like Deep. I deep way, way down. We just watched Office Space again. Luke, as they're going through, Luke is like, I don't, we're not gonna make it out of here. Like they they like like in the movie, it's like they get off the Million Falcon, they walk into a room, they do the with the computer, they walk into another room, there's the princess, they get an elevator, and they're they're two it's like short for a storm trip. Yeah, it's like the size of a sit go gas station.
SPEAKER_02Was that in the book?
SPEAKER_05Yeah. Okay, yeah, okay.
SPEAKER_02Now, did he write this in 1975?
SPEAKER_05He wrote it as he was writing the movie. He wrote them both at the same time. Okay. Yeah.
SPEAKER_02Okay.
SPEAKER_05So that's why there's some things that are a little bit different. Because aren't you? Luke totally wanted to bang Leia, by the way.
SPEAKER_02Well, yeah, that was obvious.
SPEAKER_05I mean, it's obvious, but it's like, you know, people are like kind of retconning, ah, it's his sister. In the book, uh I can't wait till I get through the books in uh Empire and Return of Jedi, see how they talk about that one.
SPEAKER_02Well, there are deleted scenes from Empire where he and Leia are just doing the old tongue down each other's throat, and she's like using the force to get him off of her. Wow. Yeah.
SPEAKER_05Doing the Wookie Shuffle.
SPEAKER_02Yeah.
SPEAKER_05But anyway, in the book, they're going way, way down deep in the Death Star to the point where he doesn't even know how they don't even know how to get back out. They have to use R2 to get back out.
SPEAKER_03Right.
SPEAKER_05But that scene.
SPEAKER_02I would get so lost in the Death Star.
SPEAKER_05That scene with Han, he's running like there's like 20 death uh stormtroopers from the beginning, and he just loses it and runs at him with his gun.
SPEAKER_01Yeah.
SPEAKER_05And they, the stormtroopers, it's almost like the Jedi mind trick that uh Obi-Wan uses. Yeah. They freak out, they're thinking, well, this dude wouldn't be running at us unless he had something. So they run away from him and he chases them down a few hallways. He's thinking, this is working. Yeah. The stormtroopers are like, what the hell? He's gonna kill us. And then they all just kind of stop and they turn around and he's like, uh. And then runs back.
SPEAKER_02It's like that scene in Aladdin. He's got a knife. We've all got a knife or a sword. Yeah, yeah, yeah. Or something. Yeah. Boy, that was my contribution to this story.
SPEAKER_05It's a good read. And uh, I'm reading The Empire Strikes Back, and it's talking about why they're out there in the Tontons to begin with. They're looking for life. So they were trying to find another, a new base. They found Hoth. They were in such a hurry. They set up their base, but they never bothered to check to see if there was out there that would kill them.
SPEAKER_02Uh-huh. I thought they were out there seeing if anybody was uh they were scouting to see if anybody was on to them. No. Okay. No.
SPEAKER_05They were they're they're looking for indigenous life that may or may not attack them. Indigenous.
SPEAKER_02Like that swamp, not the swamp thing, the the cave monster.
SPEAKER_05Yeah, the the icy beast. Yeah. The abominable snow nut. I'm kicking myself because it took me so long. Like, so let's back up a little bit. Okay. I got into Rush before I got into any other band. And I didn't realize that until I was talking to Fancher once. But you remember back in the day, uh Columbia House and whatever the other one was, you send them a penny and they send you like 12 tapes. This is back before the CDs, the tapes, the cassettes. Uh the one the one of the tapes uh that I got was Rush Presto. Oh. And I wore it out. I there was something about it that I dug. I really I liked it. And then when the CD Club came out, I got Rush Chronicle. Didn't really like that as much. And Rush Chronicle is basically like a time capsule of all their early stuff. Um took me a while to get into them. And then as college went, I just noticed, you know, YouTube became a favorite band and all that stuff, but I just noticed Rush was always there. And it wasn't until I got out of school and I started working. Oddly enough, I became a working man.
SPEAKER_02That's what they call me.
SPEAKER_05Right, yeah. They call him the working man. And I bought uh moving pictures, and then I just started, I ended up buying every Rush album and went insane with them. And then it wasn't until but it wasn't until Clockwork Angels that I thought, you know, I could probably go see them at some point.
SPEAKER_02Yeah.
SPEAKER_05And I just kicked myself because I know I would have loved the uh all of the tour. I would have loved to have seen them on the counterparts tour. Yeah. Yeah. R30 was insane.
SPEAKER_02Oh, you've seen them earlier.
SPEAKER_05If you see any of the videos from R30, R30 has the what is still it's on YouTube, it's got uh 22 or 23 million views. The R30 Rush intro, they make a 10-minute medley of all their early stuff into this insane jam that ends with them starting Spirit of Radio. It's in it's amazing.
SPEAKER_02Now, uh some friends of mine in high school, after I moved to Johnson City, Tennessee, that's all they would talk about. Yeah, it's not like it was annoying, but it was almost a point of hey, you know, there's other bands out there, so it's not like I was bothered by Rush or the existence of Rush. Yeah. Uh what I heard I liked, but I mean I was just into other albums at the time. Yeah. And so finally, like whenever counterparts came out, I decided let's see what the deal is with what's the deal with Rush. Yeah. And I bought counterparts and I liked it. And my buddy Corey's like, You bought a rush CD? Really? I'm like, yeah, it's not impossible. Yeah. And then later on, I bought greatest hits, and I've got six or seven of their CDs now. Yeah. But I mean, yeah, I finally, you know, once I figured it out what I was missing, I'm like, I've got to see these guys. And I thought Clockwork Angels may be the only time I'd be able to see them. Last week you were talking about Andrew, he's in college, yeah. Moved out, and my oldest son Jacob moved out. Uh-huh. And we're trying to find the um every cloud has a silver lining, right? You know, it's like we miss Jacob being around, it's weird, especially since we can look at life through 60 and see, well, he's 40 minutes south of us. I I I hope he's not running away from work. I hope he's eating his vegetables, all that stuff. But the silver lining is, you know, when Jacob lived at the house, we had the equal waffle rule. Okay, when we get a box of ego waffles, if there's 24 in the box, that means that there's four of us. So each of us gets six waffles, right? Because Jacob would have like 13 on his plate. And I'm like, Jacob, are you gonna share the waffles that everybody else? I didn't think I wanted them. Whatever. So now that Jacob has moved out, we all get an extra waffle. Okay. That story goes nowhere.

SPEAKER_05Somebody said that they would quit listening if we banned Chris Hughes again. It was like uh that's at least Slingo guy.
SPEAKER_02Kyle Slingo. Or uh Kyle Slingo's pushing it.
SPEAKER_05I dig Kyle Slingo. Yeah.
SPEAKER_02He's pushing the show. Yeah.
SPEAKER_05He uh Huggies. Yeah. Yeah, yeah. We bitch about Chris Huggy. We haven't bitched about him in a while, though. That's why I'm picking up. He's got it coming. I know. He's a show pusher.
SPEAKER_02Kyle Slingo is the first person to do make his own fan art. Yeah, our attorneys are Kyle Slingo is standing there and holding beats and says, Hey, you want to touch my beats? And I'm like, Aww. Yeah. He made his own fan art. That's cute. How great. It's cute. That's awesome, Bobby.
SPEAKER_00It's time for a classic clip from Irritable Dad Syndrome.
SPEAKER_02Mike and I both have a tendency of running into crazy people when we go to the grocery store. Yeah. I I do especially. My wife doesn't believe me. She's like, there's no way you keep running into these things. Well, last week and the week before, nothing had happened. Just like nothing. And I'm and and I was very I was I think I let it get to me.
SPEAKER_05Okay.
SPEAKER_02Well, this week something phenomenal happened at the grocery store. I I met a woman in the produce department. So I I go to Kroger. And by the way, Kroger are not a sponsor of this podcast, although this should be because we mentioned them in all 27 episodes of this podcast.
SPEAKER_05We could call this the Kroger podcast.
SPEAKER_02The Kroger podcast, yeah. So I'm in Kroger, I'm in the produce section, and I'm walking by and there's a woman and she's desperately trying to open up a plastic bag. She cannot, she cannot open it. And I've been there a thousand times. And I'm convinced that they have the cameras, the security cameras, that they record people doing the uh opening the bags, and they're laughing at us. And it's like a it's like a show they they aired in Taiwan or Peru or something. And uh Americans are crazy with plastic bags. That's probably a more I would watch that. Probably a catchier title than that. But I told her, I said, Nah, those bags are a bitch to open, aren't they? She goes, Yes, they are, you know. Because I talk to strangers. Yeah. And uh, and I told her my my theory that we're being recorded, and she's laughing. And she says, Well, you know, before we all had the masks, you could just lick your fingers and open the bag, but now you can't take the mask off. And she says, You gotta get your fingers wet somehow. And oh, I got an idea. She says, I'm gonna touch the beats. So she puts her hands on the wet beats, okay, and then she opens up the back. And she says, See, it worked. And then she then she looks at me and she goes, Oh, you want to touch my beats? Oh Lord. And I'm thinking, no, but you just titled my next podcast. No. So and and then she clarifies, she says, and just so you know, I'm not touching all the beats and leaving. She bought she's a one one beat lady. She's a beat. She bought the beats. Okay. But yeah, but so I got I I I couldn't drive home fast enough to tell my wife, you want to touch my beats?
SPEAKER_05So was there a twinkle in her eye? Did she know what she had said or was she?
SPEAKER_02It was almost as if she was a cast member on our podcast.
SPEAKER_05Okay.
SPEAKER_02Like if we had a third layer, she'd be the beat lady.
SPEAKER_05Okay.
SPEAKER_02And you know, she was just like, like, like she couldn't get enough. And I know she went home and told her husband. So I asked this guy if he wanted to touch my beats. And he's like, You did what? Yeah.
SPEAKER_00You want to touch my beats?
SPEAKER_05Oh, I can't believe we forgot to talk about that. Right? Yeah. Right. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Remember when we were gonna have two little plushie speakers, and you hit one and goes, hmm. Yeah, yeah, yeah. Oh, that would be great. Somebody out there for 27. Step 2027. Step one. We've got an idea. We just need to be famous. So it's so whatever you guys need to do to make us famous, and then we'll have that plushie, and it'll be awesome.
SPEAKER_02Oh, yeah. The the dude with the towels, yes.
SPEAKER_05Yeah, I don't I don't know.
SPEAKER_02It's like it's like I I'm so used to going into the bathroom, using the bathroom, washing my own hands, and walking out. And they have uh actually I'm rarely in a place where it's fancy schmancy, and then there's some guy wanting a tip, but it's like, good God.
SPEAKER_05One of the times I was traveling, I forget where I was, but there was somebody in there handing out towels, and I didn't know what the proper if you're supposed to tip them. Right. And I'm sure they don't want they just watched me pee. They know what I was doing because they were standing there like a big creepo watching me do it. That's right. I'm gonna reach down and you know, wretch into my wallet and hand you out a soggy bill.
SPEAKER_02There you go. We just don't need bathroom attendance. No. Yeah. No. This isn't nom, Walter. There are rules.
SPEAKER_05Smokey are over the line.
SPEAKER_02Market zero.
SPEAKER_05Market zero, dude. Has the whole world gone crazy?
SPEAKER_02Everybody was kung fu fighting.
SPEAKER_05You're entering a world of pain, Smokey. World of pain. World of pain. Market zero, dude. Donnie, please. I never saw that in a theaters. If there's a movie that I wish I could go back and see in the theaters, it's that one. Yeah. I would have loved because you know people didn't expect that when they went to go see it. No, because they did not expect Steve Bishemi to just keep being told to shut the f up.
SPEAKER_02It was fresh off the heels of Fargo. Yeah. And so people were expect boy were they disappointed that it wasn't a Fargo. That was one of those movies that people loved it or they just well, Fargo is one of those movies that just either loved it or hated it, I think.
SPEAKER_05All of their movies are like.
SPEAKER_02And I saw a thing where somebody was saying that the scene where she went and met that guy for uh lunch. I'm just so lonely, so lonely. And you know, people were like, it has nothing to do with the story, and why didn't they take that out? And they said, Oh no, it absolutely has something to do with the story because it's the only time where Margie was just Margie. She wasn't the wife, she wasn't the police officer, she was just Margie, and it expanded on her character and how she the Genesei qua and how she behaved and what made her thinking process do what she did in other scenes of the movie. And I'm like, all these years later, somebody explained to me why that scene made sense because I was on board. I was like, I don't think it makes sense either. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Donnie, did you hear a thing that the dude said?
SPEAKER_05You're like a child who walks into the middle of a movie and and also, dude, Chinaman is not the preferred nomenclature. Asian American, please.
SPEAKER_02But this isn't the railroad, Walter.
SPEAKER_05I read a I read an article that uh John Totoro was like really upset. He thought he had just deep six his career. Oh, yeah, with the Jesus. He thought the Jesus was so stupid. And he he was like, That's it, I'm my career's over. And he just became shocked that people nobody f with the Jesus.
SPEAKER_02Licks the bowling ball.
SPEAKER_05And you, you pull a piece in the league play when I'm on, I'm gonna stick it up your ass and pull it till the chicken goes click. Jesus. You said it, man. Don't f with the Jesus. Eight-year-olds, dude. It's a peter ass. Oh, he's a petter ass. Yeah. And to go around to all his neighbors. Right.
SPEAKER_02That rug really pulled the room together. And he pissed on it.
SPEAKER_05He did. Donnie. Please.
SPEAKER_02Donnie. Shannon Brown and I went to see that. And one of our great friends in our inner circle, because when you go to Gatsby's in Johnson City on Friday or Saturday night, the round table next to the glass window was me, Shannon Brown, Chad Fraley, Jim Livingston, and Donnie Merritt. Shannon and I went to see we went to see the big Lebowski. And when it was over with, we drove home as fast as we can. We didn't have cell phones. And he answers the phone, hello. Shut the f up, Donnie. And we slammed the phone down. And it was worth oh my god, we could not wait to tell Donnie just to shut up.
SPEAKER_04Give me the ringer, dude. You got a gun? What are you thinking I'm rolling out here naked? Give me the ringer, dude.
SPEAKER_05I think I told you I finally watched that with Andrew. It was one of the last movies we watched before he went to college. Uh-huh. And I didn't want to be annoying, but under my breath, I was reciting almost the entire movie. Yeah. It's a hard movie not to It's so good that I forgot about Flea being in it when we watched it again. I was like, Yeah, Flea's in it.
SPEAKER_02Yeah, I forgot that too.
SPEAKER_05We believe in Nashin. We cut off your Johnson. And the guy, uh, what was his name? Mr. Lebowski's assistant. Oh, those were the uh little Lebowski Urban Achievers. That's when Nancy Reagan was the uh first lady of the nation. Yes, yes, the nation.
SPEAKER_02Don't remember that part.
SPEAKER_05You don't remember? He's given Lebowski a tour of the mansion, and he's he's like, Oh, these are uh oh, these are Mr. Lebowski's children. He's like, Oh, he's uh different different wives? He's like, oh no, no. He laughs his ass off. Yeah, yeah. He's like, not uh his actual children, no, these are the Little Lebeski uh uh excuse me. Excuse me, don't touch that. But the Lil Basky urban achievers.
SPEAKER_02No, it was just so simple. I mean, all he wanted with Nancy and all he wanted was his rug back.
SPEAKER_05Yeah, he really tied the room together. That's right. And they pissed on it.
SPEAKER_02And they pissed on it. He just wanted his rug.
SPEAKER_05What the f is this Lebeski? Obviously, you're not a golfer. Holding them at the volume ball.
SPEAKER_02Yeah, yeah.
SPEAKER_05Woo, Pete on the rug.
SPEAKER_02Well, you see, the the Cohen brothers came off uh Fargo, and I guess they were at that phase where we could do whatever we wanted. And so they were hot.
SPEAKER_05Well, they knew a dude. They knew a guy. Right. They based the movie on a dude. Literally.
SPEAKER_02But I don't know if Fargo had not been as successful as it was, if the movie studio would have given the green light on Lebowski. Because before that, I mean, yeah, Raising Arizona, which is still my favorite Cohen Brothers movie, Raising Arizona had uh uh oh my god, had everything. Don't forget his profile, Ed. These balloon coming funny shapes. No, unless you think round is funny. Which is it, young fella?
SPEAKER_04You want us to lie on the ground or you want us to freeze? Because if and I'm a freezing, I can't rightly jump. And if and I'm a jumping, I'm gonna be in my shop. Yeah, mighty good cereal flakes, Miss McDonough.
SPEAKER_02Lebowski was a stretch. I mean, I can imagine them in a room trying to sell that to a company, you know, it's like to a to a production house or whatever. But since they were the Cohen brothers and they were had solid gold written all over them, then yeah, you guys just do whatever you want.
SPEAKER_05I leaves microbes and whatnot. He's the you're all in here in the one room in Arizona where I know he ain't at.
SPEAKER_02Is it true that your son may have been abducted by aliens? Don't don't don't press that. Don't put that in your paper. My wife will never get over that. She'll just lose all hope. She'll just lose all hope.
SPEAKER_05Hey, hey, hey, hey, I tell you, why is the Pope why is the Pope's hat so big? Because he's so damn stupid. Wait, no, I told her wrong. I'm gonna pass out. Yeah, yeah.
SPEAKER_02Good times.
SPEAKER_05You gotta get a dip tat. Yeah.
unknownOh God.
SPEAKER_05So if you thumb in I dye, you might get away from the orthodontra, but you can't get away from the dip tat. She's got a little angel on her hands, hi.
SPEAKER_02I want that baby. You'd notice that I want that baby. Like people quote Fargo a lot. They quote Lebowski all the time. And then probably the third of their movies that's most quotable was Raising Arizona. But you never, you know, see people walking around and uh quoting um never mind. Lady killers. Lady killers, that's right. He had irritable mouse syndrome.
SPEAKER_05Actually, Lowe's would be perfect for me because I don't know anything. And I would just stand in the aisle and tell people all oh you need a Imperial unit on your lug nut. You don't want to get a metric lug nut.
SPEAKER_02What are you doing plumbing? Yeah. Because if somebody says, sir, what aisle are the screwdrivers on? I'll say, Do you need a flathead or a or a Phillips? And whatever they say, yeah, that's they're all in the same place. Because they said, wouldn't that be something if they sold them on different aisles?
SPEAKER_05Oh, I'd be like, oh, you want a good screwdriver? Head on to Willie's up the street. They'll set you up. Yeah, we don't have to. No, yeah, nothing here. Set Margaret back there. Margaret, you still back there?
SPEAKER_02Sir, what are all your hammers on? Do you need a ball ping or a mallet? Yeah.
SPEAKER_05We got your sledgehammers, we got your I just uh all kinds of hammers.
SPEAKER_02Yeah, no. My buddy Steve Farrell said this one time. Sometimes he'll go to Home Depot and put a couple of things in the cart and then just walk around to make it look like he knows stuff about homemaking. Home repair. That's what you do. You just put some PVC pipe and uh and a level and then you uh get some uh some grout. You gotta get grout.
SPEAKER_05Do you remember when the crowbar was in operation?
SPEAKER_02Yeah.
SPEAKER_05And we'd walk around and you'd see these kids walking around with wine while they're shopping. Yeah. I wonder what they're doing now.
SPEAKER_02Right. I don't know.
SPEAKER_05Because they didn't look like they normally grocery shopped.
SPEAKER_02No.
SPEAKER_05They looked like they got dressed up specifically to drink wine near the Vienna sausages.
SPEAKER_02Right. Now, the the crowbar was cool. I enjoyed the crowbar, but when they had the wine tasting, I'm like, get over yourself. Yeah, guys, you're having a wine tasting four aisles over from spam.
SPEAKER_05And they would put midge from meat over there, and she would have those little um swisher cups that you had in school with paper cups. Yeah, yeah. And she'd put the wine in those. I'm not drinking wine out of a swisher cup. No. I'm not normally a highfalutin dipper, but in those cases, I draw the line. Yeah. Is there something about drinking wine from a paper cup that screams alchemoholic?
SPEAKER_02And I don't want to and yet you still drink it out of the box.
SPEAKER_05Yeah. Well, that's different. That's classy. Oh, yeah. Anybody can drink out of a round bottle. Uh-huh. It takes a man to drink out, and I said it, to drink out of a rectangular cardboard box.
SPEAKER_02I am not drinking Merlot.
SPEAKER_05That was a pretty good one. So well, Callie Hill's dropping some stuff here. Is that mother-in-law? I can't read. Is that mother-in-law? M-I-L? Saw Wizard of Oz there last night? Wow. Does that mean you're that means you're not there watching it? You clearly mother-in-law saw it last night. Thank you for deducing that sentence down.
SPEAKER_02Yeah. Kelly Hills is like, maybe she maybe mother-in-law can stay and even interpret her for English. What happens in Vegas stays in Vegas. So I've heard that that uh Wizard of Oz is amazing at the screen. But I've also heard that they cut out like 10 some minutes of the movie. They fling monkey poo at you. Yeah. But no red apples fall from the uh sky. Dangerous. They're they're like stuffed apples. They're not actual. No, no, dumbass. Yeah, they're they're throwing Granny Smith apples from the sky. Ow! Ow! So yeah, it looks amazing.
SPEAKER_05So I I will say this. When we saw you two, I did not know this was possible, but it was part of the show. They have people that can like lower down from the top of the sphere, even though it's all a screen up there. Yeah. They could they have like a panel that they open and they just we watched them because one of the songs has a like a rope come down and it just like lowered down. And we were watching it. We're like, oh, what the hell is this? Wow. Yeah. Fascinating. And they could interact with it on stage. A rope. A rope. Yeah. I mean, it was they spared no expense.
SPEAKER_02Come for you two. Stay for the rope.
SPEAKER_05Sounds awesome. When you're sick of you two, there's the rope. There's the rope. Did you do a weird No?
SPEAKER_02By the way, the last episode. I haven't listened to the whole thing. I listened to most of it. As I was editing it, I decided to do it again, and I made uh uh volume two of us going, uh uh uh see, it it it uh um okay, um um uh and you go woo and then I said uh what? One, two, three, four, one. Uh uh and uh yeah I and uh uh uh uh yeah yeah uh uh uh but I mean uh uh okay so I'm and I'm trying to but uh now and like uh and um I was yeah uh uh uh there's there's another uh uh yeah yeah yeah so uh so yeah so the uh um he's he's use uh it was like but uh just just uh no do you do uh yeah um yeah yeah so yeah it was oh it's it's uh uh Harrison Foyd I think we I I I can't I don't uh well now see you you um there uh who uh and and and just uh uh uh um uh it's um they put a cr uh and one other uh I was it's like I I uh uh okay what so yeah I'm is uh I can say God yeah I uh yeah so okay the show's over folks it's time to go to work go to bed or whatever it is you do.
