SPEAKER_02How's this look? Old Pappy's got a podcast. Boy, you look like a nerd.
SPEAKER_04I am a nerd. Nerd. Nerds were glasses. God, remember when people used to think that if you wore glasses, that means that you were smart.
SPEAKER_03That means that you were smart? Clearly, I've proven them wrong. But um psh that mean that he was.
SPEAKER_00Time now for Irritable Dad Syndrome, winner of the best chili competition four years in a row. Give it up for your hosts, Mike and Darren.
SPEAKER_04Hi, I'm Darren. I am Mike. Welcome to Irritable Dad Syndrome Cincinnati's Comedy Podcast. This is episode 329, and we are in fantastic moods. So we're hyped. We are psyched. We are ready to go. We are rip roaring. And let's do this thing.
SPEAKER_02I am pissed.
SPEAKER_04And you know I was trying to put a I was trying to put a pretty big thing.
SPEAKER_02I was trying to hello. That's what you just said. Just okay. Yeah. First off, welcome to our patrons. Yes, we have people that listen on Patreon, and we have some weirdos that join us live on the Patreon. On the Twitch in the whole thing. Yeah. And they come in and they see all the weird stuff that leads up to this. And I honestly don't remember when we clicked live or what was going on. But here we are. Yeah. So I was ranting with Darren, and I thought, you know what, we need to start this thing before I lose my mind.
SPEAKER_04Well, you were ranting hard. Mike's been going through some stuff. Yeah. He's been going through some really, really uh stuffy stuff.
SPEAKER_02Yeah.
SPEAKER_04And so uh our apologies if Mike hasn't been uh, you know, but I don't think it has affected your performance at all on this podcast. I think that you continue to bring it. You are a bright light in a uh world of uh podcastness. Okay. So yeah. I found out today I got a letter from one of our uh listeners said, Dear Irritable Dad Syndrome, I jacked up my knee. I was at the orthopedist today, and I'm getting an MRI, and they asked what I wanted to listen to while I was getting my MRI, and I asked to listen to Irritable Dad Syndrome. Holy and the doctor said, What is that? And she said it's irritable dad syndrome, it's my favorite podcast, and so they played it. Now they didn't have today's episode yet. I don't know what time she went in.
SPEAKER_02So this was a female, this was not Jim Timmerman. No, no, no, no, no, it was not Chris Huggie's, no, it was not, and it was not that other that jack hole that lives next to you, call Slingo.
SPEAKER_04And it wasn't Chris Michaels, yeah. Those are the only people who send us any correspondence. No Durbin. It was my Jack Durbin. Yeah, it was my friend, uh it was my friend Courtney.
SPEAKER_02They don't care.
SPEAKER_04It was my friend Courtney. Oh, anyway, so Jurgen. Yeah, so Courtney went and had an MRI, and so they didn't have today's episode uh ready, but she listened to last week's episode a second time. Is she okay? She's yeah, she's did they find anything? They uh found her knee. Okay. Uh she's it's she thought she had a torn um meniscus that's good now. We don't think that it's that. So anyway. For our audience, you could say a torn filibuster.
SPEAKER_02Filibuster. It's like, yeah.
SPEAKER_04She's got a rip ruptured penultimate. So uh Courtney, good luck with the knee. And the hey, if you've got an appointment the next time you're having an MRI, tell them you want to listen to Irritable Dad Syndrome.
SPEAKER_02Yeah.
unknownYeah.
SPEAKER_02Like Darren said, Mike's been going through it. So we had some events this weekend, and one uh one of the events that happened is I cussed at the U-Haul guy.
SPEAKER_04This is awesome. Now, this is the guy who hands you the keys. So here's what I did. Here's what I did.
SPEAKER_02I went to U-Haul.com like a good God-fearing American. Right. And I rented a truck. And when you rent a truck, you can rent it to return to the same place that you pick it up. So you go pick up a U-Haul, you go haul your ewes, and then you come back to the place that you rented it. You can also do a one-way, like it's Delta up in this bitch. And you can just say, I'm going to go get the truck in this city, I'm taking it to that city, right? And I'm not going anywhere else. Right. You know, pretend like you're Daniel LaRusso and you're moving across country to California. Right? The karate. The one way. Yeah.
SPEAKER_04All right. They took it to uh New Mexico, right?
SPEAKER_02Yeah. Okay. So the last time I did a U-Haul, I did the pick it up here, drived it in, picked up the stuffed, drived it back, and I hate I hate driving a U-Haul.
SPEAKER_04I do too. They suck. Right? They don't have a CD player.
SPEAKER_02They have no shocks. If the axle is on a pair of bricks that are bolted to the bottom of the truck. That is true. So every pebble, lizard, cat, person you hit drive over a blade of grass. You feel it, and it was driving me crazy. So I said this time, Bess, you're getting up with me at six in the morning. We're driving into the place uh where we're moving for stuff from, and we're gonna reno you all there. Right. So when you do that, when you get on the website, you have to answer all these questions, right? Are you a felon? Right. Are you bringing a gun? All this stuff.
SPEAKER_04You know what? Which that's none of their business.
SPEAKER_02And the last time, so I didn't have to answer all that stuff this time.
SPEAKER_04So that's that's horrible.
SPEAKER_02So I answered it all last time, right? But I did have to say I'm picking it up here in Huntington, right? And then I'm going to return it over here in Sharonville. Okay. Right?
SPEAKER_04Oh, in the Ohios.
SPEAKER_02In the Ohios. And I picked the actual U-Haul store. This is where and I had a nice little picture with the U-Haul guy out there. And I said, yes, that one right there. That's where I'm bringing it to. Yeah. Okay. So they said, pick it up by 9 a.m. Right? It's a three-hour drive. That sounds reasonable. Okay. Yeah. And so I caught they called me the day before and they said, uh, are you still picking up the U-Haul tomorrow, honey? It's it's West Virginia.
SPEAKER_04Yeah, yes, I I know it well.
SPEAKER_02And I said, Yeah, uh, yeah, I am. Uh it's a three-hour drive. You know, what happens if we're just, you know, we may not get there till like 10. Oh, if you don't think you're gonna make it by nine o'clock, you gotta let us know. Because at 9.15, it gets released back to the wild, and anybody can take that thing away from you. And you got a 26-footer. People are gonna want that. The old 26-footer. Okay. Like, okay, well then I will, if I'm gonna be later than 9 15, I will call you. So we get in there, we put the GPS in, and Bess and I have fun when we drive together. Yeah. Right? We're singing stupid songs and moving right along. Yeah, all the whole thing. Moving on up, everything, the whole thing, the whole thing. And it's about 9 10, and we go to where it told us to go, and it's somebody's house. Oh, Tata U-Haul in sight.
SPEAKER_04Right, okay, right.
SPEAKER_02And so I call because I don't know where I and I I call to get directions, and it said, Thank you for calling U-Haul, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, to connect to a person. Press this button. I pressed it, dude. Answered the phone. Please hold.
SPEAKER_01Oh, okay.
SPEAKER_02And it put me on back on hold. So I we're driving around the block. We drove around the block about three or four times. It gets to be about 9, 12 or so. And I'm like, I think I know what this is. There's an east side and a west side to Huntington. And I said, I think this is it's over on the east side. And they just they messed, you know, they messed it up.
SPEAKER_04You need to go on the other side of the tracks.
SPEAKER_02And I saw it was, you know, 15 something something. I was like, I think that means 15th Street. I think we just need to get on this and go and just ignore the GPS. And she said, and I quote, You're going to ignore the GPS.
SPEAKER_01My question is, what the hell?
SPEAKER_02Because this is how she throws things back in my face. Because I always say, the GPS told you to do that. Don't never ignore the GPS. Don't now she's throwing it, she's throwing it back to me. So like I accepted my punishment. We drive down and I hang up and I call because now it is 9.14 and I don't want this thing to get delivered back into the wild. Right. Right? Right. Right. So I call.
SPEAKER_04Right.
SPEAKER_02Same dude answers after I go through all this stuff. Now I'm driving while this happens. And it's uh, you know, what is that, hands-free over the the Jimmer Janger in the car? Yes. I can talk on the phone. Yes. And the dude says, please hold. And I'm like, no, no, no, no, hang up. And I was like, damn it. And then I didn't hear anything. And he's like, Well, I'm still here. I got a whole store full of people here. I can't talk to you right now. I was like, dude, I'm trying to get to your store. I've got a nine o'clock rental. I don't want it to go away at 9.15. It's not where it says it is. Can you hold it? And he's like, Well, it's a brand new building. He said it's a brand new building. Oh, well, that doesn't help with my geography. It's not that I don't know what a U-Haul building looks like. It's not that I can't recognize the logo if it's in a slightly older building. Uh-huh. The problem is the place you sent me to was some little old lady's house. Right. She didn't have a U-Haul.
SPEAKER_03She didn't have a U-Haul building.
SPEAKER_02But she didn't want to rent me one if she did.
SPEAKER_03Well, it's a brand new building.
SPEAKER_02It's a brand new building. So I'm like, okay. And he hung up. So we just drive, we drive to, we found it. We go in there, and uh, you know, I there were two people behind the counter. All right. One looks like he had been working there way too many years. The other one looked like he just started that day. Five minutes ago, yeah. I got in line with the one that looked like he just started that day because I was pretty sure the one that I yelled damn it to was the other one. Right. And I was right, by the way. Because I heard him talking to other people and I'm like, that's him. That's him.
SPEAKER_04That's the guy.
SPEAKER_02And so I it finally it gets to be my turn. Now it's 9 30, 9 40, somewhere around in there. And I'm like, I have a reservation for this thing. It's like, um where are you uh where are you moving to? I'm like, I'm just I'm I'm taking it to to back to your place in Sharonville. Uh I'm moving you know stuff up from a house. Uh-huh. And he's like, uh so you're moving to Sharonville. And there's a pause, right? Because I don't know what happened here. I don't know what new beast I have to tackle here. I don't know what's happening. Uh-oh. I'm like, I'm not moving to Sharonville. Uh-huh. Where are you taking the truck? To Sharonville. So you're moving to Sharonville. No, um.
SPEAKER_04Well, is it you're moving or you're not? Because a minute ago you said you weren't. Now you're saying you were.
SPEAKER_02You didn't go there. It's kind of like. I just said yes, I'm moving to Sharonville. And he said, uh, we don't have a there's no store in Sharonville. Like, I know there is. Uh-huh. Because I just did this two months ago and I got it and took it back to Sharonville. He's like, it's not where you're telling us you're moving. Are you moving to and he gave my home address here? And I said, No, I live there. Uh-huh. And he's like, Well, there's no uh Sharonville near you. I was like, there is. Okay, one thing. That's where I live. Yeah. And we're going back and forth, and the other guy is yelling at somebody because they didn't put the right dolly in the truck. And he's like, Well, they didn't order their dolly. I can't put the dolly in there if they didn't order the right one. What do they want me to do? What do you mean? Let me go out there and put the right dolly in there. What do you mean the right dolly? There's two different types of dolly. I know this because I'm a U-Haul guy now. So I came around the counter. I said, Let me see what you're looking at. I became my own customer service agent. They live right. He didn't live. I just went because I got to do. Because I have, by the way, this is like 9 45 at this point. I have movers showing up at the house that I'm going to at 10. Uh-huh. Okay. I'm paying them by the hour. Yeah. Okay. So I come around the thing and I'm looking and I see my home address and I said, just put, just put Sharonville. Is that where you're moving? We started that again. It was like when I came around. You remember Men in Black where they go and they restart. It's like that happened when I came around the counter.
SPEAKER_03It's not supposed to be this hard.
SPEAKER_02I pulled up my rental agreement on my phone. By the way, I said I did all this on the computer already. Uh-huh. I should, it should already be in there under the rental where I'm going. And he's like, I don't see it, man. I don't see Sharonville. Okay. And I gave him the address 11880, blah, blah, blah, blah. Gave him the everything. Uh-huh. And I said, there. And it came up, and he's like, Oh, that's Sharonville. Yes. It is. And then I swear. He said, Is that where you're taking the truck?
SPEAKER_03Yes. Yes. Yes. That's where I'm taking the truck.
SPEAKER_02Well, that's a U-Haul store. Are you moving the stuff to U-Haul? Are you getting storage?
SPEAKER_04Okay, okay. You realize this is a brand new building, right?
SPEAKER_02I said, I tried to cover all the bases with my next sentence. Uh-huh. I said, I'm going to get stuff now with this truck. Uh-huh. I'm going to take it to a storage unit and I'm going to unload it. And then I'm going to take said truck to this place in Sharonville. Oh. Okay, well, you're set to go. Uh, the price is $200 more than what you agreed to online. Right. Right? And I'm like, that's a lot. That's not what I agreed to. And he said, well, there's a deposit on there. I was like, do I get the deposit back? Like when I take the truck back? What are you paying with? Cash or card. Like, what is this? It might be in is this a shakedown? Yeah. And he's like, he's like, if you're with a card, there's no deposit. And I'm like, well, I'm using a card. He's like, oh. He's like, well, then you don't have to pay the deposit. I'm like, but the money here, you it's still, you're charging me $400. It's not supposed to be $400. I know I got $200 with some additives, so whatever. So I I get $300 is fine, whatever. Right. It's still $40 more than what I quoted online, but that's okay. But it says $400, and he said, it ain't going to charge you that. I'm like, that's what it says. It says $400 tap to pay. Uh-huh. He's like, it ain't going to charge you that. Well, then what's it going to charge you? And at this point, it's $9.50. Uh-huh. Right. On a good day, not driving a 26-foot U-Haul. It takes exactly 10 minutes to get from there to where I'm going. So I'm like, all right, whatever. And I tap it, and he was right. The receipt they printed out said 300. But why can't they fix that? Right. Right. Right. Anyway. Oh my God. Long story short, I get in the I get in the truck. I go do all the stuff that I have to do. And I loaded it up and I brought it back. And I would love to say that I had an uneventful move. However, there's one last piece to this story. And it's my favorite part.
SPEAKER_04Okay.
SPEAKER_02Okay.
SPEAKER_04I can't wait.
SPEAKER_02I unloaded the U-Haul at the storage facility. Now I'm driving. In Sharonville? No, no, no. Just down the road here.
SPEAKER_04Okay.
SPEAKER_02Right. I'm taking the truck back to Sharonville. Oh, okay. Okay. I'm not moving. Because they don't have a place for Sharonville. Now, there are two dollies. Now, the truck did not have a way to secure the dollies in there. So they're like rolling all over the place. Which was fun, let me tell you. I bet. I'm driving on the highway on 75, and I noticed a truck get right up next to me. The dude does this, uh, pointing down, like roll your window down. Uh-huh. And I roll the window down, and he's like, Your back is wide open. Oh, God. Yeah. These dollies were very heavy metal dollies. Okay. But I just I just looked at him and I yelled, Oh. And then he yelled back, yeah. And I said, Thanks, man. And I didn't, then it would it seemed like it was forever for the next exit, right? Because this is a huge You can't just pull off on the side of the road. No, it there's not enough. I would still be on the road if I pulled over. There's not enough room. It's a 26-footer. It's a 26-footer. Yeah. I pull over. The whole time I'm thinking, there's like a hundred-foot, a hundred-pound dolly out there just went through somebody's windshield. It's going to kill somebody. God. I pull over, I get out, I go look. Show enough, it was wide open. Both dollies were in there. Oh, good. But the big dolly had rolled back. It was almost to the edge. And I was laughing from that point all the way to the sharing where Bess was waiting for me, wondering where the hell I am. Because I kept thinking of planes, trains, and automobiles. You're going the wrong way. How does he know where we're going? Thank you.
SPEAKER_05That's exactly what I was thinking. You're gonna kill somebody.
SPEAKER_03Oh my god.
SPEAKER_02It's a perfect end to a perfect day.
SPEAKER_04The last time I rented a U-wall truck, I was going down to Virginia to get my dad's stuff after he passed away, and I was going to clean out his house. And I drove out of the place and somebody yelled at me and I had the I had the back wide open too. Oh, yeah. I mean it didn't have anything in it. No. And I went about a hundred feet before they stopped me.
unknownYeah.
SPEAKER_02But at the end of a day like that, I was like, ah, of course. I got done unloading because I just unloaded this thing into a storage unit. And I'm like, ugh. Like I told you, off the show. I don't want to bring it on the show, but I have some items I didn't want. I still have to get rid of.
SPEAKER_04Those U-Haules, not only do they not have shocks, but the seats are horribly, horribly uncomfortable.
SPEAKER_02And they're hard to turn around in a small driveway. I found that out. If Bess hadn't been with me, I would have knocked down a lot of stuff in the house. Right. And it would have been hard to sell it at that point.
SPEAKER_04And the uh the one I was driving didn't even have a radio. And I'm like, how do you not have a radio? A radio. Yeah, I had my phone going. I I had that covered. Because at the time I just, you know, my cell phone didn't have any uh anything on it that could have listened to music. And I'm driving home from Virginia to Cincinnati, Ohio by myself, losing my mind.
SPEAKER_02I hope I'm done driving U-Hauls. It's really, really hard to go from because I've I've made the switch from SUV to car. Yeah, you know this. I do know this. Uh and that was that that took some getting used to.
SPEAKER_04Yeah.
SPEAKER_02And but going from a U-Haul back to that, or from that to a U-Haul, I thought about just saying, just you keep everything in there. I don't want to. Yeah. I don't want to do that.
SPEAKER_04What are they gonna do? You know what? If you dropped, seriously, the the thing you told me, which by the way, you guys can't know what's in what what Mike brought home.
SPEAKER_03Maybe they can.
SPEAKER_04If you if you had just left it in there, what are they gonna do? Charge you a little bit more? Okay. I just don't want to be an ass. They would probably charge you per day until you came and got that out of there. Yeah.

SPEAKER_04I have often mentioned how dumb I am. I'm I joke a lot when I do stupid. But Libby and I watched a show on Netflix, and the show is called Best Medicine. Okay. And it's about a guy, a doctor, who moves to this little town up in Maine where everybody knows each other, and uh you don't really have to think to watch this show. It's just a simple little uh it's kind of like northern exposure. Do you remember Northern Exposure?
SPEAKER_02I never watched it, but I know what you're talking about.
SPEAKER_04Yeah, he moved up to Alaska. He was the the DJ or or whatever. I know I think the guy was a doctor also on Northern Exposure. It's kind of like that, and then every week everybody in the town gets this weird rash, or everybody comes down with flu symptoms, or everybody, and so every single week this doctor thinks that oh my god, there's this wide epidemic going on. And so it's kind of like northern exposure, kind of like Doc Hollywood, and it's kind of like House all combined. But honestly, this is how dumb I am. We were five or six episodes into it when I realized the doctor's name is Martin Best, Doctor Best, and that's why they call the show Best Medicine.
SPEAKER_01That is the stupidest thing I've ever heard.
SPEAKER_04And if you could have seen the look on Libby's face, what I said, oh, best medicine. That's why they that's why they do that. And she's like, Yes, honey, that's why they do that. Yeah, it reminds me of um was it season eight or nine of Friends where Phoebe got the central perk. Uh-huh.
SPEAKER_03She's oh, central perk because it's coffee. That's cute. Yeah.
SPEAKER_02I'm gonna admit this. I was the same with the Sopranos. Uh huh. I didn't watch that show for a long time because that's a dumb name. What the hell's the wrong? What's that name? It's a bunch of Singers? Yeah. Is this a musical? It's a musical. And I was well into a couple of episodes before somebody actually said, Hey, Tony Soprano. And I was like, oh, his name is the Oh. Oh. Yeah. Never admit that publicly on a show that people especially one that's that people download internationally. So I have another bitch. Can I bitch? Yeah, man.
SPEAKER_04Can I bitch your podcast and do whatever the hell you want?
SPEAKER_02So Andrew was in sports, Charlie's in sports. Right. We've done a lot, and Charlie seems to be doing the bingo card for sports. Right. Like I'm going to try all of them, which is awesome. But we've noticed that we have to pay to attend the games that our kid is in. What? You have to pay for them to be in it. Uh-huh. You have to buy all their stuff. Right. Then you have to pay per game or per meet or whatever.
SPEAKER_04Like if he played football, you'd have to pay to see the like Lakota West, you get to pay to see the games. We had to pay to watch them march.
SPEAKER_02Yeah.
SPEAKER_04We had to pay when marching band, we had to pay to go to the tournaments. But we're used to this.
SPEAKER_02You know, I used I complained, you know, I've probably bitched about it on this show years ago when it started. But now we're used to it. But anyway, we go to this cross-country meet today, right? And Bess calls me. First of all, cross country is wild. Yeah. Right. Yeah. At least on the other sports, there's a place you go to watch it. And everyone knows the same spot that you go to. Cross country is like, go like they give you like GPS coordinates. Go here. Right. And it's like you park yonder and you walk all the way over here. And then if you want to see your kid halfway through, you got to walk over to this crick. And if you walk over here, you see them finish. Uh-huh. It's fun, but it's a whole different uh ball game, as it were. Yeah. So Bess is out in a field somewhere, and she's like, You have to come over to where I am. Where are you? And I said, I'm at the porta potties near the tents. Right? Turns out my description of near the tents varies wildly from her description of near the tents. Okay.
SPEAKER_04Yeah.
SPEAKER_02So she was actually closer to the tents than I was. Yeah. But she felt she was far from the tent. So we had some trouble finding each other. But depth perception is during this exchange, she said it's a $5 charge to get in. And I said, You gotta be f kidding me. Because another fun thing about cross country is that you're walking in fields to get there. So you can say things like that out loud. You can't say that at a football game or a or a basketball. You can. But then then you're the dad that drops F-bombs. I don't want to be that dad. And that's not you. So we get there, and she said, But it's but it's okay. They have a QR code. Okay? Great. Well, okay. Well, I because you can scan the QR and pay with your phone. Right. Okay. So we get there and they have the QR code sitting right there. I scan it. I'm yeah, I tap it, and it says six dollars a ticket. I'm like, I thought it was five dollars. Right. So I just I I do it, I pay it, or whatever. And I go up to the lady, and she says, she looks at it, she's like, oh, that's for a football game. And I look at it, and it is for a football game. And I said, I just all I did was scan the QR code over there, and it came up to buy tickets, and I pressed to buy tickets. It's literally all I she's like, oh, you must have pressed the wrong thing. What the hell did you just say? I'm gonna say, no. No, I didn't scan the thing. I scanned your QR code, and a button came up to buy tickets, and I pressed that button. Yeah, yeah. And here I am. Here I am. Your QR code sent me to these tickets which I bought. Bless your heart. It must be your wrong thing.
SPEAKER_04You're so incapable of here, Papa. Let me take your.
SPEAKER_02Here we go, lady. It is damn near October. After the year, month, week, day, and currently hour that I've had, the last on this planet that you want to f with is this right here.
SPEAKER_04Who has two thumbs and you don't f with this guy? No.
SPEAKER_02Yeah. So you're gonna have to step all the way off of that high horse that you're on right now and come down here with us peasantry and just point me to the tent that I go to to see my kid.
SPEAKER_04I think you might need to take your blood pressure back.
SPEAKER_02You're pressed.
SPEAKER_04Normally I'm fine, but I'm a little scared right now.
SPEAKER_02She pressed every single one of my buttons and backspaced and pressed them again. And then she said, it's okay, just walk in. And I wanted to say, by the way, it was $12.67 because they charge tax. And after you pay that, a little thing pops up and says, Do you want to donate to sports in your area? I did. I think I just did. I think I just did. What I did was I paid you $12.67 for the privilege to come out into a field and watch my kid doing it. My kid. And I understand that they organize everything, but it is not in good form to ask for support after one has supported.
SPEAKER_04Yeah. Right. No, I agree with you 100%. I'm going to be totally honest here. I'm going to uh Darren's going to open up and I'm going to admit to a crime. Yeah. I mean, well, I mean, I'd like to think that the statute of limitations has passed. But a few years ago, when Jacob was in marching band, he had a tournament and it was way, way out in the middle of I don't even remember where. It took me 40 some minutes to drive to it. And you know, Libby and and I were like, we were exhausted. And I remember Cameron had homework, and you know, it's like, and I and I loved Jacob and I love Cameron and I love going to their things. You're like me. There are nights where it's like, God, I wish this thing was five minutes away. Yeah. Because it's just like I love going to the event. I don't love drive. I don't love driving all the way to the thing. And I got to the event, and there was a long line, and they were charging a ridiculous amount. And I'm like, you know what? Let's just see what happens. And I hump dum dum. I acted, I was confident. I just walked like I knew exactly where I was going, what I was doing, and I walked right past everybody. I sat down, I watched the band play, and I walked out. Nobody said that. Yeah, the key is the confidence.
SPEAKER_02You gotta act like you were supposed to be there.
SPEAKER_04Yeah, we were watching Little Miss Sunshine, the older brother who was at the uh beauty pageant, and he was walking around backstage, and the woman's like, hey, are you authorized to be back here? No. Just looks at her like what do you care about? So it was wrong, and I apologize. But yeah, I did it. But but we gave the marching band a lot of money. Speaking of sports, I I work from home. Uh-huh. I work for Antana TV. I make promos for the classic TV network. The other day on Sunday, the Pittsburgh Steelers beat the Cincinnati Bengals. Now, my point. When I used to work at a TV station, I was one uh for a while there, I was one of six Steelers fans who worked in the building, and a lot of guys had moved on, some had retired, and uh it got to the point where I was like one of like three Steeler fans. Uh-huh. I got a lot of uh but then on days like Sunday when the Steelers win the game the following Monday, I would love going into work. Now, not because I didn't talk trash, I never talked trash, but so many people would come by my office and oh great game, like I had anything to do with it. Yeah, I had absolutely we've been training all year.
SPEAKER_02It's you know, it's the preseason to get you.
SPEAKER_04Well, special teams, okay? Special teams is what's gonna get you. But they would come and congratulate me, and I had nothing to do with the game. And it's days like that I kind of miss working at the office because uh yeah, because yeah, the Friday for the game I would wear my jersey. I have a Palomalo jersey and I have a Terry Bradshaw jersey. Yeah, when now those two jerseys, seriously, in Cincinnati, nobody talks crap about either of those players because Troy Palomalo was the man, absolutely the man. And then I remember I was wearing my Terry Bradshaw jersey once. I'm walking through a BW3, and the guy's like, holy he's got a Bradshaw jersey. So, yeah, I mean, so they're legendary players. Yeah, but yeah, I kind of miss uh going into the office and have everybody congratulate me for something that I had nothing to do with.
SPEAKER_02I have been on a uh tear, I go on these down these YouTube rabbit holes. Yeah, and I've been going down the YouTube rabbit hole of Conan O'Brien and Jordan Schlansky. Oh, Jordan is so I've seen I've seen all of the you know when the Harrison Ford with the Millennium Falcon. Yeah, yeah, yeah. And the or Falcon, whatever.
SPEAKER_04The the one where Jordan, it's not Falcon.
SPEAKER_02The the one where Jordan bought the um the whip the espresso espresso machine, yeah, the one where uh uh Conan was doing performance reviews, and all the other people on the staff said he needs to fire Jordan Schlansky. Yes. Uh and then I started watching all of Jordan's appearances on his show because they have a podcast together, yeah. And I have just been tickled pink and sideways watching all of the Jordan Schlansky stuff.
SPEAKER_04I was tickled sideways.
SPEAKER_02Uh-huh. And I don't know where that doesn't go anywhere. I just wanted to point it out. But I I had a fun time with that. Uh-huh. And I I'm starting to watch things again. I've gone through a long period of time where I haven't watched anything. Like if I have free time, I'll either read or I'll work on this thing, yeah, or I'll um uh play the Vigigames and watch little short things.
SPEAKER_04Well, for the longest time, the Vigigames was your release. That's what yeah.
SPEAKER_02Well, it still is. Okay. Um, you know, uh, but I I'm starting to watch longer form things, and I thought, you know what? I haven't watched Netflix in a long time. Right. I'm gonna go downstairs and I'm gonna watch some Netflix. I came down to this room that we're in currently and turned that thing on the team and had some fun with it. Yeah, and uh I you were tickled pink and tickled pink and sideways and retroactively.
SPEAKER_04One of the things Libby and I love doing is at the end of the night, we will usually like Cameron's doing his homework or he's at work, and we will uh sit on our matching recliners side by side, that's key. Man and wife, yeah, and we uh watch the TV together. Okay, and we have found we watched Best Medicine together, loved it. We found uh but mom's been recommending a bunch of shows that we've been watching together, and uh, and so I will see things. I'm like, uh I'm gonna try it, but I'll wait until I can watch that with uh with Libby. A few months ago, she had gone out with some girls and they went to see Send Help. Have you seen the movie Send Help with uh what's her face and that guy who's oh I can't remember her name. I can't remember.
SPEAKER_02That's what uh that's what people refer to me and best as what's her face and that guy who's in Can't remember the actress's name right now.
SPEAKER_04But so she works in an office and her boss is like a major, just a major prick. And he's rude to her and he's condescending, and she's trying to work her way up the corporate ladder and mad men, like the lady with the No, she wasn't in Mad Men. Okay, okay. One of the people in the office promised her a promotion, and then he left the company, and his son was taking over, but he wasn't gonna give her the promotion. Anyway, long story short, they're going on this company trip, we're all on a plane, the plane crashes, and it's she and the guy on a desert island, just the two of them together. Okay. Oh, it's funny, it gets gory, and there are so many times where you want to look at the dude and go, dude, what is your flipping problem? Anyway, man, did it get gory, but it was a lot of fun. Okay, so it's like in the mornings I get up, and after Libby and Cameron go off to work, I've uh started uh watching some stuff by myself, which is weird because I feel guilty.
SPEAKER_02I mean, yeah.
SPEAKER_04I'm allowed, I pay the damn cable bill. Yeah, so yeah, yeah, it's a it's a good movie. And I told you about you know, movie night that went horrible. Remember? Uh-huh. The last movie night we watched Toy Story 5. Okay. You talk about a difference in movies. Have you seen the Toy Story movies? I I have. I haven't seen five. Okay. Have did you watch four?
SPEAKER_02I don't know. What was four? Toy Story Four was when Three was the teddy bear trying to burn them all at any time.
SPEAKER_04Exactly. Three was when everybody, grown men and women alike, sobbed their eyes out when Andy donated all his toys, in spoiler alert, including Woody, to this little girl named Bonnie. Okay. So he gave his box of toys. You got Rex the Dinosaur, you got the uh Mr. Uh Potato Head and Mrs. Potato Head, you got Slinky Dog, uh, you got the whole gang, Buzz Light here, Woody, everybody, and he donates the whole box to to Bonnie. And that's how the movie should have ended. They should have stopped at Toy Story 3. There's no reason. What was four? Four. I'm glad you asked.
unknownNumber four.
SPEAKER_04This Bonnie, the little girl, I can't stand her now. Bonnie stopped playing with Woody. Bonnie would play with all the other toys, but she wasn't interested in playing with Woody anymore, even though Andy made her promise that she would take extra special care of him because he was her favorite toy. And Bonnie's like, I will. And Donnie, Bonnie is a lying little little and then Bonnie starts, she takes this plastic spork and puts eyes on it, and uh the bendy stuff, and so it's forky, right? Yeah, and she's playing with Forky, and everybody, and I don't care what, don't send emails here. Everybody says, Oh, Forky was cute. Everybody hated Forky. Everybody. Okay, so Woody ends up going to this antique store, and he meets this doll named Gabby Gabby who's evil. Yeah, and Gabby Gabby wants Woody's voice box because her voice box doesn't work anymore. Long story short, Woody gives away.
SPEAKER_02There's like a toy collector that was doing stuff.
SPEAKER_04That was the toy collector was Al's Toy Barn, and that was in uh uh Toy Story 2. Oh. That's where we meet.
SPEAKER_02Um I'm all jacked up in the Toy Story. You are that's where we first meet.
SPEAKER_04Shut up. Yeah, that's where we first meet Jesse and Bullseye the Horse. Yeah, yeah. So anyway, it should have ended at Toy Story 3. I hated Toy Story 4 because at the end, Woody became a homeless toy and just ran off with Bo Peep, and they were living on the streets, probably doing drugs, yeah, having unprotected sex, doing all kinds of crazy, horrible things.
SPEAKER_02Superman in uh Superman 2 when he lost his powers and grew uh grew the stubble, started drinking.
SPEAKER_04Exactly, yeah, exactly. Woody was exactly like Superman 2. So I hated, hated Toy Story 4. And I watched it at the theater. We attempted to watch it a second time on the Disney Plus, yeah, and we couldn't do it. Me and the boys were like, eh, no, so we didn't. So Toy Story 5 came out, and I'm like, what are they doing? Are they trying to to rinse the taste out of your mouth from Toy Story 4? And uh we we wouldn't go see the theater, but we did watch it. And I will say Toy Story 5 is better than Toy Story 4, okay, but it's still not so good that it was worth uh going past Toy Story 3. Yeah. There, I said it. Okay, Sue me, I don't care. They should have ended at Toy Story 3. I it was even Quentin Tarantino said that. He's like, What are they doing? Why would it was a perfect, perfect movie trilogy? They did not need to make four or four, it was horrible, and then they made five, which was okay.
SPEAKER_00Yeah, yeah.
SPEAKER_04And that's my movie review of the day.

SPEAKER_04I was going through my Facebook memories and I came across a joke that I wrote in 2011. This was 15 years ago.
SPEAKER_02Okay.
SPEAKER_04And I'm looking at it, and I and I love Facebook memories because I'm like, I totally forgot that I wrote that. Or I totally forgot that I took that picture of the boys, or this is the day when Libby and I had our big date and met Brian Regan and all kinds of stuff like that comes up. This is where I buried that body. Exactly. Thank you. Yeah. Well, I came across this joke, and it only had like one or two comments on it, and I'm like, this was a pretty good joke. Yeah. And I posted it a link to it again saying that it should have gotten more love, and then it didn't still get more love than it was. But the joke was, you know, because you're always talking about at the office, and there's all that water cooler talk. Yeah. And there's gossip, and people stand around the water cooler. Yeah. And I said, you know, before they invented the water cooler, people used to stand around and gossip next to warm water. That's the response it got. Now, come on. If Stephen Wright had said that, or if Mitch Hedberg had said that, that would have killed. It would have killed.
SPEAKER_02Yeah.
SPEAKER_04That was a good joke.
SPEAKER_02Yeah. I said yeah.
SPEAKER_04You said yeah, but what's your favorite song of all time?
SPEAKER_02Me? Yeah, you. Bad. By you two.
SPEAKER_04Yes. What's my favorite song of all time? My Sharona by the Knack. Okay. It's always been my favorite song ever since I first heard the song. I bring this up because I found out that the Knack, I'm sorry, uh, the bass player from the Knack, Prescott Niles, is still touring with the Knack. The Knickknack. It's Prescott Niles the Knack.
SPEAKER_02Uh-huh.
SPEAKER_04And he's the only there's one other living member, but he doesn't tour with the group. So just the bass player tours with the band. So there's a new singer, Doug Figer was the singer, and he died uh years ago. I don't remember how long ago he died. So they've replaced the drummer. The drummer of the knack was badass. Yeah. And then the guitarist was badass. I'm like, guys, it's like as much as I love them. Would you go see Adam Clayton's U2 if Adam Clayton was the only living member of YouTube? I mean, they're different.
SPEAKER_02Way down the pike here on YouTube. It's unfair. We've got to pick a different one.
SPEAKER_04Okay.
SPEAKER_02Them I would, yes.
SPEAKER_04Okay. Let's see.
SPEAKER_02Would I go see Pearl Jam if it was just Mike McCready and the Pearl Jam band? I don't think so.
SPEAKER_04Right. You wouldn't. But it's just like, what are you doing? And how many people are going to see Prescott Niles The Knack? Yeah. Right? I mean, and again, if Prescott, if you're listening, I love your band. I've listened to Get the Knack, I don't know how many times. But if you were coming into my town, I don't think I would rush out to see. Not really. It's not really the knack. Something that keeps coming up on TikTok, which has fallen into my algorithm, which is pretty cool, was bands who are touring that have zero original members. And there's a lot of bands. Really? Yes. Leonard Skinner tour without any original members. Foreigner. Wait. Molly Hatchet. Is that legal? Apparently. And then would you know read the comments? And there are people like, yeah, why are they paying full band prices to see a tribute band? And that's what it is. I'm sorry. And I pissed my buddy Eric off when I said that about Foreigner. The guy, Kelly, somebody, Kelly had replaced Lou Graham. Okay. So Foreigner got down to one uh member still in the group, and that was Mick Jones, the guitar player, yeah, and one of the key songwriters. So Mick was like the only surviving original, not surviving, the only original member still touring with the band. And then he brings in this Kelly guy, and Kelly had replaced Lou Graham. Well, Mick left the group. Okay. Well, he still like owns the group, but he just doesn't tour. So this Kelly guy is front and foreigner with a different drummer, different keyboard player, different, different everybody. Yeah. It ain't foreigner. Yeah, it's not. It's not foreigner if there are no original members in the band. And now Kelly's left. You know what? And the the guy who there's a new guy who replaced Kelly. So I remember. What's with my voice?
SPEAKER_02I do have some answers for this because I saw Page and Plant.
SPEAKER_04Yeah.
SPEAKER_02And they didn't call themselves Led Zeppelin. They called themselves Page and Zeppelin. They called themselves Page and Plant. Yeah. And I don't tell people that I've seen Led Zeppel because I haven't. And the drummer for Page and Plant was John Bonham's son. Yeah. So it was damn near Led Zeppelin. Yeah.
SPEAKER_04But without the bass player, you John Jonathan Polly. John John Paul Jones.
SPEAKER_02But yeah, they didn't. They even they didn't. And if there was ever a group that could have just said, you know what? We're just gonna call ourselves Led Zeppelin. Yeah, they could have done that. They could have Zeppelin. Nobody would have arrested them.
SPEAKER_04Right. Yeah. But they called themselves Page and Plan. Yes, right. Well, they also have recognized. They do. I mean, I think that Gene Simmons and Paul Stanley should have done that with KISS. I mean they kind of I know, but um don't give me I'm the one who brought it up. You mean nothing? I'm the one who brought it up because they put uh what's this Tommy Thayer in Ace Freely makeup, yeah, and then they put uh um Billy Billy Sticks in the Peter Chris makeup. That's not his name. Billy Sticks. Billy Sticks. Billy D. Sticks. Yeah. And I'm like, guys, come on. I was a fan of KISS without the makeup. I loved when they would come and play without makeup.
SPEAKER_02So speaking of bands with all their original members, you know where I'm going with this. I do. Uh, you two. We talked last week.
SPEAKER_04Happy 50th anniversary.
SPEAKER_02They were about to do their 50th anniversary. They went back to the school where they started, where they all met. That was awesome.
SPEAKER_04Did it bring a tear to the eye? No. It did me.
SPEAKER_02It did you? I haven't even seen the whole thing. I've seen parts of it. But then they went down on the street of Dublin and they took over a street. Brace yourselves, people. You're just going to start seeing them everywhere. They're going to be in Jimmy Fallon, Jimmy Kemmel, Jimmy Smith's Jimmy Crackcorn. Jimmy Crackcorn.
SPEAKER_04Jimmy Smith. The Jimmy Smith show. I'm sorry, but it's a lot better than you're than people say.
SPEAKER_02But I really give it a shot. I really dig the new uh silencio. I dig the out of it. And the more I listen to it, the more I'm like getting more and more excited. I'm reading about the new album. The new album is Carnival Carnival. I don't even know how he's Carnival Deluze. And it was so cute. Carnival Delusers. Anybody go to that show? Yeah. Yeah. But they're pissing me off a little bit because they have like five different, or actually, there's about 12 different versions of it out now or that will be released. Yeah. There's like a gold one, there's a clear one, there's a blue, black, marble one, there's a black regular one. Are you talking about the vinyl? The vinyls. Okay. Then there's a yellow covered vinyl. There's the weird Amazon one that looks like a limp biscuit cover.
SPEAKER_05Yeah.
SPEAKER_02There's one that looks kind of cool. It's the same shot of them walking on the beach, but it's from a different angle. Uh-huh. And that actually does look kind of cool. It's making me want to. And then there's a cassette. And then there's different versions. Okay. Yeah, I got a version that's going to come with a cassette.
SPEAKER_04So I'm going to have a cassette of it. Does it come with a pencil to re-thread the uh no, but it's not a the picture of it.
SPEAKER_02I assuming the picture is what it's going to look like when it comes out. Uh-huh. It's not like one of those, like, you know, like the cassette that's like black but clear. You know what I'm talking about? Or the old 80s. You know what I mean? Like cassettes in the 90s. Late 80s, early 90s. They start they were clear, but they had like a black. You know what I'm talking about.
SPEAKER_04I remember them being clear, but I don't remember them having anything black on it.
SPEAKER_02Well, it was clear and the songs were in white typeface. Yeah. And they had like the little black on the inside against that white so you could read it. Yes. Okay. You know what I'm talking about? Yes. Well, this one is the album cover. It's all like blue and and weird. It's like the it's like they made a sticker of it. It's cool.
SPEAKER_04You know what they could do? They could seriously do this. The U2s could release their next album solely on cassette, and you would buy it.
SPEAKER_02I would buy two of them.
SPEAKER_04You and Dan and Box. We would. And everybody would buy them. And here's the thing.
SPEAKER_02He would bring cassettes back.
SPEAKER_04Well this is the thing. They could sell those and not put anything on it. And nobody would know. That's true.
SPEAKER_03Hey, I got it on cassette. That's true. How is it? Oh hell, I don't know. I'm not gonna open it up.
SPEAKER_04I'm not gonna risk f that up. And so you they buy it, they just put it on their wall next to their other YouTube stuff.
SPEAKER_02And just stream it. Like that's what I'm doing. I have the days of Ash CD up there. I haven't opened it yet. It's just still in its cellophane with all this stuff. Fun fact, there was a rumor, and Bono confirmed it. When you listen to the Easter lily EP, if you've listened to the entirety of the C next to your ear, or you hear the ocean. No. If you get to the end of Coexist, there's a all of a sudden there's this Coexist is the one where he's just it's just him singing with a and he's the I will bless the Lord. It's that one. Yes. And at the very end, there's an electric guitar that comes in and goes, did like just like quick and it's weird and it's what the hell? That's the beginning of Carnival Deleuze.
SPEAKER_04That's how it starts. Well, there you go. Yeah. There you go. Yeah. I was wondering. I'm excited. I wasn't wondering. I wasn't there.
SPEAKER_02In other music news, guest hoops has come into the sphere. Rush.
SPEAKER_04Damn it.
SPEAKER_02Yeah.
SPEAKER_04I heard rumblings that they were doing that, and I thought that's gotta be fake. But yeah, it's like we're gonna hit every town in America and Canada and Brazil and uh Congo. Yeah, it's then we're gonna go to the sphere.
SPEAKER_02It's supposed to be either in 2027 or 2028. That's the rumor. Uh-huh. It hasn't been confirmed, but of course they're going to do that. Yeah. And you know what pisses me off is it's going to be a really day. You saw what we saw. Can you imagine that? Like in they're gonna. I floated it by best. I was like, I I kind of gave her the same thing that when U2 was announced for the sphere. Because I remember when the Super Bowl ad that U2 was gonna do the sphere. Yeah, I just looked over and was like, you realize that's we're gonna be there. Right. And she's like, I know, I know. Yeah, and so when I said, you know, Rush is gonna be the sphere, she paused for a minute and she's like, Oh boy.
SPEAKER_03I don't think so.
SPEAKER_02You're not gonna want to go to the sphere for that. She's like, No, I'm not gonna, I'm not gonna go for Rush. I'll go. Okay, I'll go. Yeah, we'll hit Vegas.
SPEAKER_04Never went to the sphere. Yeah. I still kicking myself. It's so I didn't go. Yeah. You know what? We should do our show at the sphere. We should. Irritable dad syndrome at the sphere. Dave will come and introduce us.
SPEAKER_02We suck so bad. That the graphics would be just this like wrapper. It's freaking huge and warped. We wouldn't even scale it right. Because you can scale them to make it look like it's huge out in the distance. No, we'd it'd be like every time we speak, our mouth would be like, whoa, whoa, whoa.
SPEAKER_03You know where we would be.
SPEAKER_04One of the graphics would be like Dave Lay looking like you're looking at one of the doorbell cameras.
SPEAKER_02We would do all this and we would leave the cover off the TV back there. Uh-huh. Yeah, and we would do it from here and broadcast it to the sphere.
unknownIt'd be great.
SPEAKER_02Can you imagine how desperate they would have to be to pipe us in? They wouldn't even have a sign out there. It'd just be like a like an index card. Yeah. Be like a oboe out there. That's right. That's right. It'd be awesome.
SPEAKER_04Yeah, yeah. Our rundown would be on one of the screens. And inevitably there'd be a story on there that we didn't get to.
SPEAKER_02There'd be like a hand with a crayon, it would mark the topic out as each after we do it. And each time it comes out, it'd be like a different glove. Yeah. And like an ape hand. Like a hoof.
unknownIrritable dad syndrome.
SPEAKER_02We call it the balls out tour, right? Balls out with irritable dad syndrome. Yeah. I don't know what that means. I don't either. Sphere's a ball. Yeah, it is. It is.
SPEAKER_04It is. It's well, it's a sphere.
SPEAKER_02It's an oblique spheroid.

SPEAKER_02Did you send a rundown?
SPEAKER_01I did.
SPEAKER_02Oh, there you go.
SPEAKER_01There you go. Best man's MRM Academy. Okay.
SPEAKER_02I got an email from Legal. Uh uh does Darren know that we're on.
SPEAKER_04I told Percy down in Legal. I can't remember what I said that time, but I had to make you take it off the video feed.
SPEAKER_02It says sh through four four. I just spit over there. My description of near the tents, while uh turns out my boy, I said something one time, didn't know you were going.
SPEAKER_04I'm like, oh that's like the next day, oh I was putting that up my nose.
